Ugh! Youth Pastor Headaches!!!

My greatest obstacle as a Youth Pastor has never been reaching students, or even getting them to get serious with God. It has always been getting the parents on board. Sometimes I feel like we're not even on the same team. I'll have teens on their face in worship, witnessing to their friends, excited about coming to liquid, and parents just don't see the importance of them attending our gatherings on a regular basis.  Kids will miss and their excuse is, "My Dad was tired", or "My Mom had a hair appointment". PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!

OK I'll get off my soap box. On the bright side, Attendance has never been better! Kids are growing in their faith, they're leading and attending small groups, and and all the servants at liquid rock!

All the Way vs. Ready Now

My bud Jeff the Worship Pastor at CC Jupiter made the comment that the song Ready Now by Desperation Band was almost an Exact Rip-Off of the Delirious song All the Way. IDK he might have a point. I still think that Ready Now Rocks it out a bit more at the end... but I did find some big similarities...

New Song

A couple of weeks ago my buddy Bill LaMorey sent me this video of the song Ready Now by the Desperation Band. I was actually teaching the next day at church (find message here) on the very subject of surendering to God. The email couldn't have come at a better time. It really ministered to me. It made such an impact in my life that we played it for the first time on Sunday (9/16). The peeps at CF loved it! Ivan our DJ rock'd. Enjoy the vid. I'd love to read your thoughts.

Wow Where the Heck Have I been?

Well I've been focusing all my time and efforts into being a dad. And the only stuff worth blogging about in the past 7 months has been Kaleb, and I didn't want to drive all of you crazy with his every waking moment. The "Boy" is doing great. Here's a pic we took of him when he was almost 7 months...

I look forward to keeping all of you posted on what's going on in CF, liquid, and of course my life as a husband and dad.
